Welcome to another round in the Anthology Zone. In each deck, there are cards we really like. There are cards we might have wished looked different. That doesn’t matter. It’s how we percieve and interpret that counts, even if it’s a common deck of playing cards. Besides, these cards are giving us something to think about in the way that we suss out the choices that lead us to our goals. So, why the King of Wands? Oddly enough, the Rider Waite Smith version reminds me of a drummer I played with. Calm, collected, and the dudes silence spoke volumes. He had it together though and was a good bandmate. Seriously now, that card represents an interesting outlook. It’s a bizarre time we’re in and with the uncertainty of the past couple years, how in the hell are we supposed to do anything? The last time I checked, we didn’t stop being artists or athlete or trades persons. It was a global pandemic. Even though some changes were made, I still expect caffeine in my coffee and my instrument to make a freakin’ noise when I plug into an amp.

It’s not all lonely when you’re working towards a goal. A group of people in your employ isn’t needed to achieve what you set out to do. There is support for you and sometimes you will be pleasantly surprised. Nothing will ever replace the hard work you put into your passion in hopes that it will eventually get you to the goal line. New ideas tend to to spring out of seemingly nowhere or they may require a think session. The King of Wands is associated with having a vision and seeing it through so why not use your knowledge and combine that with some good old teamwork? Hey, it could be very beneficial in the long run. Stay committed and consistent is my own takeway. This isn’t an overnight sensation that will be disposed of once it’s had the proverbial fifteen minutes of fame. This is your passion so you should enjoy the work and the ups and downs that come with the territory. Personally speaking, the past week has shown me just that. For the next little while, I’ll be keeping in mind the King’s teaching. The King of Wands, that is.
Until next time, stay cool. I know you will.
