MATT HART – An industrial artist from London, UK, Matt began writing electronic/industrial music under his own name in and around 2005 and DJing since 2013 – having appearances, residency and guest slots at prominent UK & worldwide clubs and events as a band and/or DJ.
In January 2017, Matt realised it was time to push forward and released a back catalogue of thirteen tracks called the Anthology of Corrosion. With renewed vigour for creation, he then put out a two-track single Judge & Punish in March of the same year. Then later in 2017, he released his first ‘proper’ EP, Chaos Rising.
More material followed in 2018 with Transition01 released in January and Chaos Rising 2 on the 14th of March; with creativity flowing there were further releases on August 9th with, Mercury Flow and b-side, Better World (remastered) and then, Chaos Rising 3 on the 30th of November 2018. This pivotal year also brought Chaos Rising to the stage with live guitarist, Jerome Badoux of Drilling Spree. With Hart’s first live performance already under his belt on 24/08/2017 in Toronto, CA, opportunity arrived for the debut show in his home town of London, UK and on March 24th along with his guitarist, he supported Mortalitech at Zigfred Von Underbelly. Then, in November 2019 the full-length Terra 3808 album was released
With 2019 rounded off on such a high note, it brought vision that 2020, was to be a year to further build on the momentum of live performance; instead, it was a year of change, adaptation and reimagining. With the onset of the global pandemic, and the events/arts industry in turmoil Matt returned to his roots as a DJ and created OUTLAW VISION, a weekly live stream DJ show on Twitch. This not only allowed him to showcase his own music, but also that of other bands from the industrial/metal/alternative/dark electro scene and similar artists to himself, such as: 3TEETH, Ministry and Rammstein. In amongst this, his writing of music did not subside and 5 releases during 2020 were produced: TRIOLITH, ISOLNATION, TERRORFYING, JUST A REMIX and DARK FIRE (01-2021), and with the popularity of the Twitch platform, all tracks received global attention and appeared on countless DJ sets and playlists around the world. Additionally, the Triolith release included remix versions of tracks from the Chaos Rising era by: Xavier Swafford (3TEETH), NitroNoise, Witch of the Vale, MXD_BLD, metalogue and well-known witch-house artist monomorte and was shortly followed up by a remix of Triolith by ESA: Electronic Substance Abuse.
Released July 19, 2021, Matt Hart’s Tales of Terra & Chaos Retold is the definitive collection of remix tracks (on physical CD) from prominent scene artists, with many of the already digitally released remixes receiving online play from DJs around the world throughout 2020-2021. This CD offers follow-up from Terra 3808 album (2019), Chaos Rising Trilogy EPs (2018 – 2017) and Judge & Punish EP (2017) and extracts selected tracks from these seminal back-catalogue offerings, along with other previous digital only releases and NEW unreleased remixes too. Part sci-fi/post-apocalyptic, part commentary on the current state of the world during a pandemic, this remix album delivers punchy, tension building fever and some thunderous beats; current fans will be enthralled with the sounds and it undoubtedly will attract new fans too. Who, can then discover a back catalogue steeped in creating a journey for the listener through the wastelands of existence.
The sub-culture roots of Matt’s signature sound of industrial metal forged with electronic driving beats makes this remix album, pounding and relentless in energy, but also takes on layers of complex instrumentation – which will have you excited to get on a dance floor and hear more from this artist.
Few remix albums have been met with such worldwide vigorous DJ play and building on this momentum, Matt Hart will be releasing a full-length album of all new material by the end of the year 2021.
